APLD Oregon is delighted to host Pam Berstler, co-founder of G3, Green Gardens Group and Executive Director of Pacific Horticulture magazine, who will present her workshop on watersheds and the watershed-wise approach to landscape design.


Watershed Wise Landscape Principles (morning session)

• Evaluating the garden as a mini-watershed

• Creating a living soil sponge that holds onto or releases water

• Treating rainwater as a resource

• Selecting the right plants for the right place

• Managing irrigation to eliminate waste and runoff

Hands On Practice Designing Watershed Wise Landscapes (afternoon session)

• Understanding and contouring for rainwater capture

• Creating a list of climate-appropriate plants

• Placing plant symbols on a site plan using key design principles

Lunch will be provided between the morning and afternoon sessions.
