(M.02.05.18) Painting With Perennials: A Landscape Artist’s Perspective
Spring will be here sooner than you think! Start planning ahead for the color everyone craves after a long winter with a lecture by award-winning designer and author, Bobbie Schwartz, FAPLD.
On Monday, February 5th, Bobbie will present “Painting with Perennials: A Landscape Artist’s Perspective” –
For years, perennial gardens were designed as side by side blocks of color. Over the past ten to fifteen years, these designs, with European influences, have become more impressionistic. In addition, more importance is being given to foliage, deadheads, and lengthening the seasons of interest. The degree of maintenance is also affected by these changes in design and by plant selection.
Bobbie is the proprietor of Bobbie’s Green Thumb in Shaker Heights, Ohio. A landscape consultant and designer for forty years, Bobbie is a Past President and Fellow of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, and lectures nationally. She has authored numerous columns and articles on perennials and landscape design for publications such as Ohio Gardener, Lawn & Landscape, and Fine Gardening. Her latest book, Garden Renovation: Transform Your Yard into the Garden of Your Dreams was recently published by Timber Press; copies will be available for purchase at the event.
