APLD HONORS VANESSA GARDNER NAGEL, APLD, WITH HARRY SCHUSTER AWARD

Annual award given to individual who embodies zest for landscape design profession.

(JULY 2017) HARRISBURG, PA – The Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) recently honored Vanessa Gardner Nagel, APLD, Vancouver, WA, with the 2017 Harry Schuster Service Award at its annual conference in Boston. The award is given in the name of Harry Schuster who was a founding member of APLD and a mentor to many landscape designers. Known for his energy, enthusiasm and zest for life, each year APLD bestows the award to someone who embodies these same traits.



Gardner Nagel is author of two books on landscape design and garden furnishings and has been a member of APLD since 2002. She previously served on the APLD National Board of Directors as Education Chair and then Communications Chair and was recognized in APLD’s 2013 annual landscape design competition for her outstanding work.

“I am thrilled to receive the Harry Schuster Service Award,” Gardner Nagel said. “It is an honor for my peers to view my love and dedication to landscape design as similar to Harry’s. This is not just a job, but a passion, and I am thrilled to carry the torch!”
